The features of new designs for modern homes

Posted by   on

A home these days is a reflection of one’s taste. With being a shelter too, the modern homes have cut through the traditional norms of construction and has emerged into the present state where it also ‘functions’ apart from being a marvel of breathtaking design.

When we compare the two extents of the trend – the contemporary and the modern – we see a great leap in every architectural aspect, touching the contours of simplicity yet bringing great new renovations to our world.

Some of those new features are discussed below which form the perfect blend of every part of a house.

Simple designs

It is believed now by house owners that unnecessary spaces in the house and jammed up designs are to be shed to attain aesthetically pleasing houses. The sense of minimalism has led to the modeling of the houses just to fit the special attributes. Very few people prefer the snug pampered up homes, and focus more on bringing out the best of its functionality. The designs are more focused and more motivated to have a decent look.

‘The function’

Modernism in architecture refers to the fact that the design should be adequate to suit the lifestyle of the residents. A design too intricate might serve well in gaining appreciation, but it is of no good if it congests the daily life of the owners. Moreover, the increase in technology has also found applications in the construction industry and presently, more emphasis is laid on the scientific processes of light and heat efficient houses.

Windows and roofs

This age’s designs for modern homes stress on minimalistic structures. The rooflines are less slanting and are nearly flat with a reduced area and overall better collaboration with the rest of the elements of the house. Also, the windows are now used as a tool to style the house and make the design more coherent. More and architects are becoming interested in floor to ceiling windows, which bring in more light and prevent the home from having too many windows. Apart from these, small windows are settled up high on the walls to let in light but keep privacy intact.

Open floor plans

Modern homes have reduced the division of floor into other spaces and thus have reduced the mid walls. A good combination of open floors with all at the same place: the dining, living and the kitchen, with the concrete view of the roof with glistening lights and the beautifully decorated interior enables the owners of the house to relish the essentials of more space and less restrictions.

Spaces for storage

Storage spaces can create inconvenience for the owner when you have more stuff and less space. However, modern houses are space efficient; they feature compact, upgraded spaces for more storage. Carefully designed cabinets in kitchen and shelves elsewhere allow you to easily store more things. Also, the corners have been managed to be brought into use by being shelved which also possess the blend of style and uniqueness.
